Best Time To Switch Brands
A lot of people on the web are pretty particular to their current cigarette brand. We know as we have been smoking the same brand for years now. However when we want to ask, “when is it a good idea to switch brands of cigarettes“?
We know that some people will never switch the flavor of cigarette and that makes sense. You don’t see a lot of menthol smokers switching over to smoking regular flavored cigarettes. However if your brand is getting to a price that is too expensive then maybe it might be time to switch your brand.
For example a lot of Newport cigarette smokers are looking at other options nowadays because of the price of a pack or carton on this brand has increased a lot over the years. For those people we would suggest trying to get a brand like Kool. Which has also increased in price over the years but not as much as Newports.
With all the taxes that are now being added to cigarettes it is now a good time to start looking at other options. That is why we say if you are smoking the most popular brands then it might be time to give a lesser known brand a chance.
The ironic thing about this is that a lot of the same brands are made of the same tobacco and by the same company. A lot of it is a branding issue and the marketing costs that are worked into the price of that pack of cigarettes.
Do you really think that Marlboros are that different than say Basics? Now I know some are saying, YES. I agree that there are differences. The burn time might be one thing, but think of how fast some brands of cigarettes burn compared to others.
Is the burn time what is really making you smoke that certain brand of cigarette?
The best way to consider if this is even an option for you and your cigarette brand is to try doing a blind cigarette test. Have a friend of yours that smokes go and get 2 brands of cigarettes and then you blind smoke test them. See if you can tell the difference in the following things.
1. Taste
2. Harshness or Strength
3. Burn Time
If you are unable to tell the difference between the two then what you are smoking is just brand name, now that is good marketing.
In conclusion:
We are not telling you to quit your favorite brand, but just suggesting that you try to save some money and try another lesser known brand. It might save you money in the long run.
Where To Find Cigarette Manufactuers
There are so many cigarette manufacturers around the world but we have come up with a list of about 10 that really stand out among the rest. A lot of these are still located right here in America in Good Ole Kentucky while others tend to have their headquarters up in New York.
Here is the list of what we believe is the most influential brands in the United States and the world.
Philip Morris Companies: One the biggest around I am pretty sure that you have heard of them before. They have some of the most successful cigarette brands on the planet. Some of their more recognized cigarettes brands are the following.
1. Benson & Hedges
2. Marlboro
3. Parliament
4. Virginia Slims
5. Basics
Their main customer support location is up in New York at 120 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10017
The second most notable company in our list is going to have to be RJ Reynolds. They tend to carry the other top cigarette brands in the world. Having been around for a long time they have been able to purchase some of the smaller brands that really came out of the gate hard. Some of their brands include the following.
1. Camel
2. Salem
3. Winston
4. Doral
5. Monarch
They on the other hand have kept to their home state of Winston Salem this entire time. They are located at P.O. Box 7, Winston-Salem, NC 27102.
The third company on this list has to be the Lorillard Company. It is ironic that you don’t hear much from these guys. I guess all the flax comes down on the other two that I just mentioned. Some of their brands that you may recognize include the following.
1. Kent
2. Newport
3. Triumph
4. Maverick
The next on this list is going to have to be the company that I tend to send the most money to for my brand of cigarettes. That would be Brown& Williamson Tobacco. They have a lot of brands that you might skip over if you are a Camel guy or gal, but they have my cigarette of choice so they are included in this list. Some of their brands of cigarettes include the following.
1. Kool
2. Lucky Strike
3. Pall Mall
4. Misty
5. Barclay
There are many more cigarette manufacturers on this list but the other brands you probably never heard of or smoked. I know from my personal experience that I have never touched the rest. These are the brands that tend to have all the dust on them on the shelves at the convenience store. Or the brands that you may have glanced at when you got your receipt from the cashier after you paid an arm and leg for your favorite pack.
