Are They Golds Or Lights?

My Name Is Gold NOT Light!

Well it has officially passed you will no longer be able to go down to your local supermarket and get Marlboro Lights.  Now you will have to ask for “Marlboro in the gold pack”.  Whatever, doesn’t stop the fact that it is still a Marlboro light.  The FDA believes that if they change the naming of the cigarettes people will be more prone to not buy it, or actually I don’t really understand what they are trying to pull with this one.

I am pretty sure that the goal is that they don’t want people to be fooled with the fact that it is a light cigarette.  Ok, whatever give me the Gold Marlboro’s same difference.  It might stop that person that has never smoked to think twice about their favorite colors and since Gold is not a very popular color maybe they will go for the Marlboro Blue.

Overall I believe it is an utter waste of taxpayers time and effort.  There is a lot more important things to deal with in this world than the naming of a cigarette pack.  It is kind of like the scientist that has all the friends trying to find the cures to cancer and AIDS and he is over trying to figure out how to make a seedless watermelon.  Not really something of great importance when there is so much more going on in the world.

Honestly what is next?  Will I have to ask for my Coors in a silver can, or my Bud in a blue can?

Calling a cigarette or a beer a different name is not going to do anything at all!
