New York Intends To Raise The Price Again On Cigarettes

David Paterson and other New York legislators are almost ready to launch their $1.60 raise on the price of cigarettes in New York.

So what this will now mean is that what you used to pay for cigarettes a decade ago is going to cost you that much in the taxes.

In total all of the taxes that are going to go into this is going to be around $5.85.  Actually I got that wrong that was the price of a pack of cigarettes just a couple of years ago.  Now the price for a regular pack of cigarettes is going to be around $10.00.

They know that if they raise the taxes on cigarettes people will still be paying and this money will help to create about $440 million dollars in revenue for the state.

From all of this what is happening is sort of us repeating old mistakes and problems all over again.

Except this time with cigarettes.  These people need to learn that people are going to smoke.  If they have to pay that much at their local store, then they are going to be more likely to go to the black market to get their smokes.

Which is already happening in some areas of the state.  Then others are going to the internet to find those cigarettes without the prices and the taxes tacted on.

If you are just reading this blog for the first time you are in luck because we know where to get these cigarettes tax free and at a discount, plus you are able to add a coupon that will cover your shipping costs.

What are your thoughts about this new idea to raise the taxes once again in New York?
